Learn differently. Achieve more.
Integrative Education offers a different route to recognised qualifications, where learners are encouraged to explore their interests, develop their abilities and discover just how much they’re capable of achieving.

What is the IE?
A qualification built around the learner.
Integrative Education (IE) takes a different approach to traditional qualifications, bringing together subject knowledge, practical experience and independent exploration.
Rather than studying subjects in isolation, learners are encouraged to make connections between different areas of learning, applying their knowledge through projects, research and real-world experiences. The result is an educational experience that values curiosity, creativity and critical thinking alongside academic achievement.

Portfolio Based
No traditional examinations. Learners demonstrate their knowledge and skills through a portfolio of work developed throughout their qualification.

Modular & Flexible
Choose from a range of modules that reflect the learner’s interests, strengths and future ambitions, creating an individualised learning experience.

Ofqual-Regulated
Integrative Education qualifications are awarded by an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation, and sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Skills for Life
Alongside subject knowledge, learners develop independence, confidence, critical thinking and transferable skills that support their future progression.

How Does it Work?

Choose your modules
Working with Emerald, explore the available qualifications and select modules that align with the learner’s interests, abilities and aspirations.

Explore and learn
Learning takes place in ways that work for the individual, whether that’s through projects, practical activities, research, creative work or everyday experiences.

Build a portfolio
As learners progress, they gather evidence of their skills and development. This becomes their portfolio, demonstrating what they’ve learned and achieved.

Achieve a qualification
Portfolios are reviewed by trained assessors against the qualification criteria, with feedback and quality assurance throughout the process.
Explore the Modules
Follow their curiosity. Discover the possibilities.
What if a learner’s interests became the starting point for their education? From science and mathematics to creative arts and independent projects, Integrative Education offers a wide range of subjects to explore. Learners can choose modules that reflect their interests, develop their strengths and open the door to new discoveries.
