A New Path for Education.
Sometimes the best ideas begin with a conversation and that’s exactly what happened when Sabrina from Yellow Brick Education phone CFI Awarding. Emerald Education began from a conversation with a shared belief that education should offer more choice, more flexibility and more ways for every learner to succeed.
At Yellow Brick Education, Sabrina has been doing incredible work supporting home-educated learners and creating an environment where young people can learn in a way that works for them. But there was a question that kept coming up: what comes next?
Sabrina approached CFI Awarding looking for a way to offer her learners a different route through education, one that could provide meaningful, recognised qualifications outside of the traditional GCSE and A Level pathway.
A shared idea became something bigger
CFI Awarding already offered Integrative Education qualifications, designed around a broader and more individual approach to learning. And what began as a conversation about bringing these qualifications to learners at Yellow Brick Education quickly uncovered a much bigger opportunity.
There is a growing community of families looking for different ways to educate their children. Schools are exploring how they can better support learners who don’t necessarily thrive within conventional routes. Local authorities are becoming increasingly involved in home education.
Together, we realised the potential went far beyond one centre. What if we could create a framework that made this approach accessible to home educators, schools and local authorities across the UK?
That idea became Emerald Education.
Follow the yellow brick road…
Yellow Brick Education and CFI Awarding joined forces to create Emerald Education, with the ambition of becoming a trusted home for Integrative Education and a community for those choosing a different route through learning. Because there doesn’t have to be one road through education.
For some learners, traditional GCSEs and A Levels will be exactly the right path. For others, learning may look very different — shaped around their interests, strengths, circumstances and ambitions. Emerald exists to make space for those different journeys.
This is only the beginning
Emerald Education brings together Yellow Brick Education’s experience working directly with home learners and CFI Awarding’s expertise in developing recognised qualifications. But our ambitions go much further.
We want to help make individualised education a genuine choice rather than something families discover only when the traditional system hasn’t worked for them. We want to build connections between learners, families, educators, schools and local authorities. And we want to show just how much education can become when we look beyond the four walls of a classroom.
Emerald is at the very beginning of its journey — and we can’t wait to show you where the road leads.
